The Berrimah Weighbridge has recently undergone a ticketing upgrade to improve the reliability and efficiency of the service.
The new ticketing system allows users to view and save the axle weights of their vehicle to their smartphone or tablet without the need to exit the driver’s seat.
Modernisation of the ticketing system from paper to digital ticketing will improve operations for industry in verifying vehicle loadings as well as for Transport Inspectors in determining the mass of vehicles for both registration and legislative compliance.
Territory owned PC hardware supplier Advanced Weighing Technology and Queensland based software developer iWeigh Solutions were selected as the preferred contractors through an open selection process to complete the $30,000 upgrade funded by the Northern Territory Government.
Improving operations at the Berrimah Weighbridge will support the growing transport industry in the Northern Territory including projects such as Truck Central as part of the Transport Industry Precinct on Wishart Road and Kirkland Drive and the new land release at Darwin Business Park.
